Experiences from the Silence – a journey of contemplation and love

I came to St Beunos – a beautiful place in the northern of wales. I am welcomed by one of the team members from the 10 week course. I feel the environment calming and soothing. We begin with a cuppa tea and after that a talked dinner with a continuation in a tour of the house. It is very well needed actually. The house is in best Jane Austenstyle and it was easy get lost in the beginning.

The most important thing – silence was not hard, it was an feeling of breathing and getting embraced by the silence. The eucharist was an important part. Feeling gods absolute and relentless love in the eucharist made me cry. A trip among the hills I also had the privilege to make the very the first day.

The days went on. Walking powerful in the holy spirit. Experiencing the holy spirit was a renewal and revival in me. Sitting in a small small summerhouse was good for being inside praying with the marvelous view of Snowdonia from the top of the steeps. One important thing in the process was painting pictures. I found a new world in my head. Making scripture paintings was a very key to my imagination and a way of finding peace of mind. The scripture became alive there in a new way. What god did in the silence couldn’t be done at home.
One of the most useful exercises was the labyrinth. It is an ancient exercise but so useful. 2013_06_18_13_30_55It was a way for me to unwind every eve. Walking with small steps praying the jesus prayer is a good practice both for the mind and the soul. It is a good prayer because it can be prayed on the rhythm of the respiratory system. The pilgrimage was also good both getting up Moel Manefa and to the ONLY Anglican church dedicated to corpus Christi, the body of Christ and the holy well of St Beuno.
Some bibleverses that was important:
Luke 4:18-19:

‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.’

Jeremiah 1:4-8;

Now the word of the LORD came to me saying, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.’ Then I said, ‘Ah, Lord GOD! Truly I do not know how to speak, for I am only a boy.’ But the LORD said to me, ‘Do not say, “I am only a boy”; for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and you shall speak whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD.’

Luke 13:44-46

‘The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which someone found and hid; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.  ‘Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; on finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.

All the scriptures are in the translation of New revised standard version.
I feel renewed and reborn in Christ, a walk to remember from depression to life! Blessed be the father, the son and the holy spirit.
